The Nightwing AI trend on TikTok, explained

A photo, a domino mask, a whip pan and a black-and-blue suit. Here is where the Nightwing trend comes from, the song people use, how the transition works and how to make your own.

Where it comes from

The Nightwing AI trend turns one photo of a person into a short vertical clip of them as a Nightwing-style hero in a black-and-blue vigilante suit. It has come in two waves. The first, around March 2026, was a dance: people made a still of themselves in the suit with an image tool, then used a motion-control feature to make it dance. Apps such as YouCam and HitPaw published tutorials for it.

The wave in October 2026 is a transformation: raise a mask, whip pan, and the suit is on, with two short batons swinging. It comes from a Halloween Nightwing costume video that Mexican streamer Beth Cast posted on October 6, 2026; by October 23 it had passed 14 million views on TikTok. Tutorials followed, many of them in Spanish, showing how to recreate it with AI, and some cosplayers answered by doing it for real, without AI.

The original uses "STEREO LOVE FUNK" by Cotneus, PVNZER and Kngmn, according to its TikTok sound page, and the generator on this site keeps that song. Remakes don't all agree: plenty of versions swap in a different sound. Many people make theirs with an app such as Kling, CapCut, Dola or YouCam Video, or with a one-photo generator.

Why the format works

The clip is short and the structure is simple, so any face swapped in still reads as the same video at a glance.

  • One person, one reveal. It only takes one photo, so anyone can join in without a group or a costume.
  • A face, then a hero. The clip opens on the person's own face before the suit appears, so the transformation is easy to recognize.
  • The whip pan. The fast camera move hides the switch and makes the suit-up land as a reveal.
  • Halloween timing. The October wave arrived in costume season, when reveal videos were already everywhere.

How the Nightwing transition works

The generator on this site follows the October version, in this order.

  1. Mask up

The person, still in their own clothes, raises a domino mask to their face.

  2. Whip pan

The camera whips sideways in a fast blur that hides the change.

  3. Suit on

The camera lands back on the person, now in a black-and-blue vigilante suit with the mask on.

  4. Batons out

They swing two short batons, escrima sticks, and finish in a hero pose.

How people make it now

There are three ways, and they differ mostly in how cleanly the transition lands.

  • One-photo generator. Upload a photo, press Generate video and get the full transformation with your face. Open the generator
  • App template. Use the Nightwing template in Kling, CapCut or Dola and add your photo; the result depends on the template. Template steps
  • Your own prompt. Describe the mask, the whip pan and the suit in Kling, Veo or Sora; results vary a lot. Copy the prompts
